Computer courses

Probably in the wrong place but oh well

I am thinking about doing a computer course but I'm pretty unsure on how to gauge how well my abilities on a computer are. I don't really want to end up on a course for people that have no ability on computers. I just want to learn how to fix most issues that comes up without having to resort on asking my mum to do it.

any ideas would be greatly appreciated
